France leads the way in affordable thermal imaging systems

Article Abstract:

A review is presented of the products of French companies who play a leading role in the market for thermal imaging sensors and systems. Some of the leading companies are Sofradir which is rated as the world leader in cooled 240/288x4 LWIR detectors, ULIS, Sofradir's French counterpart in the uncooled arena, and Sagem, one of France's two main producers of complete thermal imaging systems.

France pursues ERC90 Sagaie re-gunning trial

Article Abstract:

France defence ministry have confirmed in 2006 that a Panhard ERC90 Sagaie 6x6 reconnaissance and fire-support vehicle which is currently armed with a 90mm medium-velocity gun, is to be refitted with the CTA International (CTAI) 40 mm case telescoped weapon system (CTWS). There are hopes that ultimately the French Army would re-gun the bulk of its remaining ERC90 fleet with the 40 mm CTWS.

Improved Iguana MPV prototypes due to roll-out by the end of 2005

Article Abstract:

A stretched version of Industrial & Automotive Design (IAD)'s Iguana FV4 4x4 min-protected vehicle (MPV) design is expected to be in market at the end of 2005. Two prototype hulls of the new version, designated the FV4 290, are constructed by IAD's Belgian joint venture partner Sabiex, the second being a blast hull for verification of the design's ballistic and mine-protection features.
