Giat/DMD unveil upgunning system proposals for a range of MBTs

GIAT Industries and DMD Holding of Slovakia have unveiled their planned T21 turret, using the 120mm cannon and other features of the LeClerc main battle tank, and available for retrofitting on other types of tanks.

UD hopes V2C2 cannon can fill "unique void" in fire support

Article Abstract:

The United Defense has developed its innovative cannon design as a solution to the increasing relevance of cannon and tube artillery in the future battlefield. The United Defense is now in the process of securing funds from Advanced Technology Demonstration (ATD) for producing the prototype cannon.

Franco-US partnership announces 'FlexNet' JTRS-compliant radio line

Article Abstract:

A military software-defined radio (SDR) product line, compliant with the version 2.2 Software Communications Architecture (SCA) of the US Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), was announced at the Eurosatory 2006 exhibition in Paris on 13 June 2006. Dubbed FlexNet, the new SDR family is the subject of a combined development and production agreement signed in March 2006 between Rockwell Collins Communications Systems in the US and the international Thales Group, headquartered in France.
