ITT plans handheld multiband software radio

Article Abstract:

The ITT Aerospace/Communications Division is planning to introduce a new challenger for the handheld multiband software-defined radio market, currently dominated by Harris and Thales. The company's new radio intends to provide a single item of equipment for dismounted soldiers and it should be available in 2007, complete with a version of the Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Software Communications Architecture (SCA) version 2.2-complaint Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW).
