Island Command Greenland

Article Abstract:

A history of Greenland's defense by Denmark includes establishment of American bases during the German occupation of Denmark during World War II. The facilities and strategic missions of both Danish and American deployments on Greenland are analyzed.

Eight Lynx helicopters comprise the Danish NAVAL Air squadron. Its tactical role, deployment aboard ocean patrol vessels, crew training, and Lynx upgrade program are analyzed.
