Lithuania: Changing to the pulse of time

Article Abstract:

Lithuania achieved its long desired goal of Lithuania when it was accepted as a full member of NATO in 2004, which entailed that the Lithuanian Armed Forces coordinate both national and Alliance needs in order to contribute to national and the collective Alliance security. The Commander of the Lithuanian Air Force, Col. Arturas Leita, describes the main tasks that the Lithuanian Armed Forces have to complete so that they can integrate with the NATO structures and adapt to present and future needs.

Slovakia: Roles and missions

The Slovak Republic expects its Air Force to secure the country's air sovereignty, to provide support to the Land Forces, and to arrange for the airlift of personnel and aircraft. Brig. Gen. Juraj Baranek, Commander of the Slovak Air Force, talks about the new challenges facing the Slovak Air Force as a consequence of its membership in NATO.
