Groundwork for a total armed forces information network is being laid. The network will greatly enhance warfighting capabilities in that the location and capabilities of all military equipment will be immediately available.

The use of information technology in the US Army has been growing steadily since Operation Desert Storm. Snce then, the Army has become fully committed to digitization and the warfighting benefits it will bring.
