Article Abstract:

Bush Administration is facing problems in measuring the success or progress in the war against Iraq as the statistical data provided represents things that are easy to measure rather than phenomena that actually indicate the progress of the war. Several techniques that have the potential to describe Sunni Arabs attitudes, as they are necessary to understand the state of progress in the counterinsurgency effort are presented.

The NCW illusion

Article Abstract:

Network-centric warfare (NCW) believes that in future wars there will be no need for reserves or reinforcements as effects-based operations would be the main method for combat force employment and the concept of point of culmination would become obsolete. NCW will apply to countering irregular, catastrophic and disruptive threats as well as force building and countering traditional threats.
