Multinational facilities may solve Iranian nuclear stalemate

Article Abstract:

The technical and operational issues involved and the way the proposals could help resolve nuclear proliferation concerns were examined during discussions between Russia and Iran on a bilateral proposal for operating multinational Uranium enrichment facilities. It is hoped that these issues would make Tehran's willingness to compromise on a multinational venture, a significant indicator of its real intentions.

Moscow's federalist policy adapts to a future after Putin

Article Abstract:

Kremlin has launched a campaign in May and June 2006 to eliminate many of its regional political opponents before the national parliamentary and presidential elections in 2007/2008. The campaign shows Russian president Vladimir Putin's and the Kremlin's mastery over insufficiently docile regional elites and the continued existence of disagreements between the center and the regions in the Russian federation.
