Night fever

Article Abstract:

Night vision devices have started to revolutionize tactical warfare since it will enable armies to fight on a 24-hr basis, using darkness as an advantage. Development of these devices have included the ability to see through battlefield smoke, poor weather conditions at extended distances. Night vision devices use image intensification technology to amplify minute amounts of starlight, even those which are able to penetrate through cloud cover.

Fleet Management. Army Re-engineers Support For Its Venerable Chinook Helicopters

Article Abstract:

The Army Project Manager's Office for Cargo Helicopters (Redstone Arsenal, AL) has recently adopted a new approach to managing the Army's 431 CH-47D Chinook helicopters (built by Boeing Philadelphia) to keep them in operation until they are ultimately replaced by a new Joint Transport Rotorcraft set for around 2020.
