'Nikola Vaptsarov'

Article Abstract:

'Nikola Vaptsarov' Naval Academy has modern facilities, the training is assigned to qualified and talented lecturers and the curricula and the syllabi conform to the stringent requirements of International Maritime Organization (IMO) that aim at the safety of navigation. In compliance with modern European education programmes and NATO priority guidance, the Bulgarian Naval Academy trains naval and merchant maritime personnel.

The introduction of the Professional I defense structure has allowed the progressive transformation of the Armed Forces from a mix of conscripts and professionals, to totally professional Armed Forces. The move to an all-professional force characterized by a high level of technical training, highlights a growing need for qualified leaders and commanders.
