No bang for the buck

Article Abstract:

The US military is spending about 12 percent more a year in 2005 than it did during the Cold War, but it is still unable to reduce the shortages of supply in the Army, Air Force and the Navy. The federal budget deficit is also pressurizing the defense budget and this might have a negative impact on many weapons acquisition programs.
