PKK is down but not out as leders talk of the three-front war

Article Abstract:

The capture of the leader of the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Abdullah Ocalan by the Turkish government may have dealt the rebel group a severe setback but will not likely be a fatal blow to the PKK. As a result of Ocalan's detention, PKK leaders say that it will bring the war against Turkey to the western part of the country in an effort to strangle Turkey economically. While it appears that the PKK has neither the capability nor the personnel to conduct a effective urban terrorist campaign, its potential capacity to seriously hurt Turkey economically ought to be addressed by the government.
