Patria Industries Oy

Article Abstract:

Patria Industries is the main assembler of wheeled armored infantry vehicles in Finland, starting with 6x6 models in the early 1980s. There are as many as 400 Patria armored vehicles being used by western armies in peacekeeping operations. They are easy to operate and are cheaper to maintain than their tracked counterparts. Its latest product is the 8x8 Armored Modular Vehicle whose off-road mobility is similar to that of a tracked vehicle but with enhanced ballistic protection and can be equipped with modern weapons.

Patria wins Finland's largest-ever defence export deal

Article Abstract:

Patria Vehicles will supply 104 wheeled armored vehicles for use by the Swedish Army. The vehicles involved are the XA-203S and the XA-202S models, which will be configured for use as personnel transports, field ambulance and logistics support. They would be equipped with 20mm turrets from Sweden. The deal is worth about FIM 420 million and confirms Patria's position as Europe's leading supplier of vehicles for peacekeeping purposes.

ELBO presents Kentaurus

Article Abstract:

The Hellenic Vehicle Industry SA or ELBO has unveiled the prototype of its new Kentaurus armored infantry fighting vehicle (AIFV) in Feb 11, 2000. ELBO developed the AIFV on its own initiative an in collaboration with other European companies, including KUKA for the turret, MTU/ZF/Renk for the propulasion, STN Atlas for the weapon stablization and fire control system. The Hellenic Army plans to procure 300 Kentaurus AIFVs.
