Pre-series FCLV deliveries begin

Article Abstract:

The seven pre-series versions of the Future Command and Liaison Vehicles (FCLVs) developed by Alvis Vickers and Iveco Defence Vehicles Division of the British Army will be completed in November 2004. The UK Ministry of Defence has signed a contract worth pounds sterling 142 million (US$253.4m) for the first 56 of these vehicles whose design is based on Iveco's M65El9WM 4x4 Light Multirole Vehicle (LMV), which Alvis has named MLV (Multirole Light Vehicle).

Spain orders howitzer automation trials

Article Abstract:

The Spanish Army in 2006 has awarded General Dynamics Santa Barbara Sistemas (GDSBS) a EUR1.3 million contract to install its Digital Navigation Aiming and Pointing System (DINAPS) on two M109A5E 155 mm self-propelled howitzers and two L118 105 mm Light Guns. The Spanish Army has articulated plans to fit four of its eight-gun M109A5E batteries and 18 of its L118s with DINAPS, should the forthcoming evaluation be successful.

Orders build for new-generation Piranha III

Article Abstract:

The first of 22 new-generation Piranha IIIC models receiving orders from the Royal Danish Army and Mowag, thus expanding its position in the market is presented. The success and the features of the new-generation Piranha III are discussed in the light of one of the new-generation Piranha IIIC APCs destined for the Spanish Marine Corps.
