Pyongyang goes for broke

Article Abstract:

Pyongyang's three objectives in clashes with Washington began when the USA presented Democratic PeopleEs Republic of Korea (DPRK) with evidence of its uranium enrichment programme in October 2002. They include diplomatic recognition by Washington of the DPRK, conclusion of a non-aggression pact between the two countries, and assurance that the USA would not hinder the DPRKEs economic development.

USA, South Korea get tough on Pyongyang

Article Abstract:

South Korea and the USA have agreed to relocate US military forces away from Seoul south of Han River in an attempt to indicate significant change to US military strategy on the peninsula. The relocation plans calls for the eventual redeployment of all US Forces in Korea (USFK) around two-strategic hubs such as Pyongtack-Osan and Taegu-Pusan.

DPRK and Russia revive friendship

Article Abstract:

Kim Jong II of North Korea visited Russia for a month, demonstrating and reaffirming the ties between the two countries. He, and Russian president Vladimir Putin, signed a joint agreement confirming the continuation of military and commercial relations.
