Ruling the waves: Offshore patrol vessels aim to keep crime at bay

Article Abstract:

The patrolling of the seas against a variety of threats such as illegal fishing to drug smuggling needs a versatile craft that can give chase in the most adverse conditions and a raft of offshore patrol vessels (OPV) can provide that. The changes in strategic maritime environment have made OPVs become increasingly important, and it is revealed that endurance is more critical than speed for OPVs.

ADI extends family of Bushmaster 4x4s

Article Abstract:

ADI Limited has produced the new variant of its mine-protected 4x4 Armored Combat Support Vehicle (ACSV), a vehicle capable of undertaking the combat logistics role. The 4x4 ACSV has a kerb weight of 11 tones and can be used as mobility platforms for a variety of direct and indirect fire-support weapon systems such as 105mm and 155 mm howitzers or 120 mm mortars.

OPVs: A versatile solution

Offshore Patrol Vessels that are needed in the waters of Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and the Carribean is discussed. The backbone of the Australian government's maritime patrol and response capabilities is the Australian Defence Force (ADF); the unsolicited proposals accepted and rejected by this organization in recent years are detailed.
