SEA VIKING joint seabasing operations

Article Abstract:

Joint seabasing received a significant amount of attention during the SEA VIKING 2004 (SV04) experiment held from 18 to 29 October 2004 at the U.S. Joint Forces Command (USFJCom) in Suffolk, Virginia. The SV04 experiment demonstrated that a joint seabase (JSB) would allow the joint force commander (JFC) to rapidly and effectively project U.S. military power from the sea and sustain it in, and from, multiple, dispersed locations until conflict resolutions.
