Strategic dimensions of international telecoms: Reducing networks vulnerability

Article Abstract:

Global economic and international security structures and institutions largely depend on international telecommunications networks. It is estimated that in crisis situations as much as 90% US DoD and NATO telecommunications traffic passes over private commercial networks with critical transit points unsecured and unprotected and the points of increasing vulnerability lie particularly in three areas namely carrier hotels, international submarine cables; and the changing nature of private lines.

Communication security - Technologies and applications

Article Abstract:

Security threats to today's Internet Protocol based network that enables sharing of resources and services have become part of everyday reality. Information that needs to be sent over a network has to be protected and the mechanisms that currently exist to ensure such protection and minimize or prevent security breaches are discussed.

R3I communications for network-centric operations
