Stryker scores with US tactical vehicle force

Article Abstract:

The new addition to the US tactical vehicle fleet, the Stryker is playing an increasingly significant role and the US Army's initial Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) will soon be involved in its second operational deployment by 2009. Senior officials of the Army outlined a major transformation of the US Army designed to improve strategic responsiveness while continuing to dominate across the full spectrum of operations.

US military explores potential M1A2 urban combat upgrades

Article Abstract:

US military explored a package of potential upgrades to its M1A1-and M1A2 series Abrams tanks. The complete upgrade package, called the Tank Urban Survivability Kit (TUSK), was displayed in February 2005, at the Association of the US Army Winter Symposium at Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

M109 - modernizing for the millennium

The article details numerous efforts to upgrade and modernized the M109 self-propelled howitzer found in the service of the US and many other nations. Modernization efforts are primarily designed to improve projectile range, automation and survivability.
