Submarine sonar system based on a true open architecture

Article Abstract:

Sonar is the prime sensor of the submerged submarine ensuring undersea situational awareness and decisive tactical advantage. S-cube is the latest generation Thales submarine sonar system and is a natural evolution of the highly successful TSM 2233 series that follows the tradition of utilizing latest available COTS hardware but introduces truly open system architecture, providing first class performance, maximum flexibility, improved through life support and ease of incremental upgrade.

Submarine sonar system based on a true open architecture

Article Abstract:

Sonar, the prime sensor of the submerged submarine, accurately detects and discriminates target contacts from countermeasures and background environmental noise. Thales Underwater Systems developed the S-Cube submarine sonar system by concentrating on designing a flexible system that can easily integrate any array, processing or function in an incremental approach to ensure the optimum compromise between missions requirement, system performance and budget constraint.
