Embedded training: A KPP joined at the hip

Article Abstract:

The training given to Marines really worked when planners considered training as a key performance parameter (KPP) for the system or equipment acquired. The training that is conducted in a joined-at-the-hip notion, which means training technologies or systems that evolve at the same time that the operational system is engineered, assures operational capability from the beginning.

The author discusses the position on training of Iraqis throughout Operation IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF) under a 1-year military transition team (MiTT). It further discusses about the MiTT translating 27 Lawrence articles of World War I-era into 21st century Marine-speak.
