Textron fires SFW and Hornet internationally

Article Abstract:

Textron Systems' Sensor Fuzed Weapon (SFW) is now ready to be launched in the global market, as it is now in full production to meet US requirements. Developed in collaboration with the US Air Force, the SFW is an air-launched container that incorporates 40 top-attack, heat-seeking warheads. When dubbed as the CBU-97, the SFW basically includes as munition the SUU-66 tactical munitions dispenser, encompassing two tandem-mounted clusters of five tubes. Each of the tubes, designated in the Air Force as the BLU-108, deploy their parachutes when the two clusters are radially ejected from the CBU-97. These tubes subsequently fire 40 warheads over an area of around 500 by 250 meters, and to a speed of 16,000 feet per second, allowing penetration of 4.5 inches of rolled homogenous armor.

P99 self-loading pistol

Article Abstract:

Walther has come up with the new P99 self-loading 9mm Parabellum pistol made for police, military and other law enforcement use. The hammerless P99 can be fired either as single-action or double-action weapon. It has an 'anti-stress trigger system' that keeps the trigger at double-action position, corresponding to trigger travel of about 14 mm, after the weapon is cocked. After the first shot, trigger travel is reduced to about 5 mm. The P99 has no external safety but features four independent internal safeties: trigger safety, firing pin safety, decocking safety and drop safety.
