The German signal corps: missions roles and equipment

Article Abstract:

The German Signal Corps is split between the Army and the Joint Support Service (JSS), the Army supporting the tactical/operational level of command the JSS providing national strategic command communications. To face the present and future challenges they have to create the technical basis for a Network Enabled Capability and the increasingly shorter IT innovation cycles and the complexity of the future IT call for well-trained and motivated specialists.

Why FMS? Why DCS?

Article Abstract:

The Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) and government-to-government Foreign Military Sales (FMS), which are the two systems by which foreign governments can acquire the United States defense articles and services, are compared. These systems are designed to achieve a common goal like the increase of mutual security objectives through the provision of the United States military items and services to allied and friendly foreign governments.
