The Hungarian Defence Forces on the threshold of the millennium

Article Abstract:

The Hungarian government has instituted a number of significant and decisive changes in national security since roughly 1996 including the modernization of its Hungarian Defense Forces and the achievement of membership in the NATO. It has tightened its focus on the individual training of soldiers while developing the independent combat capabilities of small military units. Priority has also been given to the development of logistic infrastructure, host nation support capabilities, the capacity to work with Allied forces and the upgrading of equipment and armaments.

Advanced frequency spectrum management

Article Abstract:

The German Federal Office of Defense Technology and the IABG for the German Armed Forces developed the Frequency Management Tool (FMT) 2000 as a means of managing the radio frequency spectrum. The FMT 2000 features comprehensive and proven calculation, planning and management functions for planning and coordinating management tasks from 9 KHz to 400 GHz. Frequency managers can use the FMT 2000 in planning the use of any terrestrial, air and sea-assisted radio networks.

The Spanish Armed Forces heading towards the future

Article Abstract:

The Armed Forces of Spain is in the process of pursuing a significant modernization and reorganization program. The move, closely supervised by HM King Juan Carlos I in his capacity as the Supreme Commander of the country's Armed Forces, is in line with the goal of maintaining Spain's position in the international peacekeeping arena as well as its ongoing integration into the European defense system and in NATO.
