The Rakkasans in Iraq: The bulldog's victory

Article Abstract:

The Company B or Bulldogs are working Baiji hard since their arrival three months before as part of Task Force Band of Brothers under the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), which has responsibility for most of northern Iraq. The 1-187 Infantry is part of the division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, the 'Rakkasans', indicated by a red Torri gate, the Rakkasans' unit symbol, painted on almost every piece of rolling stock or flat surface on Forward Operating Base (FOB) Summerall.

From Cobra to Anaconda: some thoughts on air-ground cooperation

Article Abstract:

The great battle Operation Cobra, where American air and landpower combined to shatter HitlerEs front line and any hopes for the survival of his regime, was studied to better inform military actions in the future. The concerns over air-ground interaction during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan, since the Korean War showed that the progress towards joint effectiveness made in the European and Pacific theatres in World War II were not sufficiently institutionalized.

Space and missile defense: Essential capabilities for the Army, joint force & the nation

The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command are interdependent on each other and working jointly to provide a full range of operational capabilities for the interest of the United States. The first phase of the Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) was successful due to the help of the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command.
