Train hard, fight easy - Portuguese training from the inside out

Article Abstract:

UK's Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST) organization is the first rating for the Portuguese Navy and validates the vessel and crew's hard training work-up period. Cdr Vladimiro Coelho believed FOST as an essential tool as it enables the navy to keep up to date with training and operational practices and to benchmark national training through impartial eyes.

Heading for new heights, reformed Portuguese naval aviation looks for growth

The Portuguese Navy is the first service to introduce aviation in the country, with spotter seaplanes entering the service very early in the 20th century. Esquadrilha de Helicopteros da Marinha (EHM), co-located with the main air force base at Montijo is the first helicopter arriving in July 1993.
