Turkey

Article Abstract:

Gen Atilla Ates, Commander of the Turkish Land Forces, said the country places great importance on peace support operations (PSOs) by its armed forces. Turkey has participated in several PSOs sponsored by UN, NATO and OSCE. It also had a significant role in the establishment of a peackeeping force in the Balkans and Caucasus regions. The country is mulling the creation of a logistics and humanitarian aid brigade to provide uninterrupted logistics support to Turkish units deployed in foreign PSOs.
