Pontiac places the controls onto the steering wheel and Lincoln combines all the electronics into one easy to manage multiplexed system. Delco has designed a system that puts displays in front of the driver.

The Bose systems installed by Mercedes in the new SLK 230 and SL 600 sports cars are improving, and approaching audiophile standards. The Consumer Electronics Manufacturers Assoc. has proposed a dual-bus multiplex standard, which would hasten digital auto sound, including custom equalization.
