The CEO of Circuit City maintains that the Divx format will help to ensure the future of the DVD format because it will make the format available to more people. The president of Warner Home Video dislikes Divx because it is not a true video-on-demand product, which will be available once broadband becomes widely available.

The television show "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" is being filmed entirely in high-definition, the first to do so. There are many technical challenges to be overcome, such as with high-definition TV the viewers can see Leno's stubble. Also, some of the props had to redesigned, as did the makeup.
