I remember mono

A 35-year audio journalist who has been collecting, building, and modifying audio components for 45 years reminisces about his first mono record changers, speaker systems, and turntables. He wonders how long it will take for current systems to look as exotic and ancient as his mono gear looks now.

Audio began in May 1947 as 'Audio Engineering,' edited by John Potts. The magazine both chronicled and shaped the history of the audio equipment industry by developing fidelity standards and sponsoring the first public hi-fi exposition in 1949.
