Several interesting new car stereo products were displayed at the 1996 Winter Consumer Electronics Show, such as Alpine's Dual-gap Direct Drive speakers. Other attractive products exhibited at the show include OnActive Technologies' Top Down Surround speakers and AudioControl's Four.1 balanced equalizer.

Two trends in auto sound equipment evident at the 1994 Winter CES were the movements toward smaller components and increased carrying capacity. Pioneer and Clarion displayed automobile CD changers that can accommodate 12 disks. Two firms unveiled high-tech security systems for auto stereos.

Several interesting car audio products were exhibited at the Electronic Industries Assn's Apr 1995 MES in Philadelphia, PA, including several so-called 'stealth' installations, which are designed for leased vehicles. Blaupunkt, Polk Audio, and Kenwood all exhibited stealth products.
