Streamlined summer CES

Article Abstract:

The 1993 Summer CES in Chicago, IL was a scaled-back affair, due to lowered expectations among recession-plagued exhibitors. Still, several interesting new products were unveiled at the show, such as the speakers and amplifiers displayed in Mark Levinson's Cello Music and Film System's exhibit.

Article Abstract:

The CD-Interactive (CD-I) format is becoming more technically sophisticated, as exemplified by several video CD-I disks tested on a Magnavox CDI1450 player. Although macroblocking still mars some CD-I versions of movies, the overall quality of CD-I videos is better than VHS videocassettes.
