News reports of events involved in the September 11th terrorist attacks were often frustratingly inaccurate; e.g., media reported that the State Department had been bombed and as many as 8 planes may have been hijacked.

$1.4-billion bid to take DuPont Canada private meets resistance

E.I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. has announced plans to buy out minority shareholders in DuPont Canada Inc. The plan to buy DuPont Canada, which is a subsidiary of E.I. du Pont de Nemours, has been opposed by Jarislowsky Fraser and Company Ltd.

CTV tops CanWest's bid for NetStar

Article Abstract:

CTV Inc has announced its offer to acquire a 68% stake in NetStar Communications Inc for C$384 million. The offer topped the $370-million offer by its rival CanWest Global Communications Corp. The proposed bid which will be financed by a bank loan, will add to CTV's long-term debt of C$248-million long term debt. CTV will also proportionally carry on its balance sheet NetStar's C$330-million debt.
