2 Senate Committees Interrogate Wary Oil Company Executives

Exxon Mobile, Chebron, ConocoPhillips, BP and Royal Dutch/Shell reported nearly $33 billion in total earnings in the last quarter. A joint senate hearing by the Energy and Natural Resources Committee and the Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation is looking into whether the oil companies are gouging the public with high gasoline and heating oil prices.

Rougher Times Amid Higher Costs at JetBlue

JetBlue Airways Corp., once a leader in the airline industry, failed to meet profit expectations in the third quarter and expects another drop this quarter. The increase in the price of jet fuel and the hurricanes in Florida have cost the airline millions.
