A healthy debate: the forum explores visions for the future

Nineteen ordinary Canadian citizens and 4 healthcare experts met for day to discuss health care reform in Canada. Invited by Maclean's and CBC's 'The National,' participants discussed issues such as the increasing use of home care and nurse practitioners, and their fears about the future.

One of the most controversial topics in Canada's fall 1993 elections will be whether or not to charge user fees in Canada's health-care system. Prime Minister Kim Campbell is in favor of limited user fees, but some of her opponents are against them.
