A jury system for jobs: the latest trend in performance appraisal uses feedback from colleagues, bosses and underlings

Article Abstract:

More than 100 large firms, both in the US and Canada, now use some form of multisource assessment or 360-degree feedback, as it is also known. Colleagues, customers and others who work closely with the employee give evaluations. Some firms use it solely for training and development purposes.

A survey of 1,500 Canadians reveals that their dissatisfaction with the political process arises from the belief that politicians ignore their concerns about the economy. Survey results are interpreted.

Low-bridging Mulroney; the Prime Minister defers to his colleagues

Mulroney seems to have accepted a diminished role in the battle to win approval for the Oct 26, 1992, Charlottetown constitutional accord. Possible reasons for Mulroney's position are explored.
