A new Listerine product is making a big splash after a short time on the market

Listerine's new Listerine Pocket Paks, paper-thin strips that melt on the tongue, are selling well after a short time on the market. Pfizer has distributed Pocket Paks at the Emmys, at Manhattan movie theaters, at the Chicago Film Festival and the Head of the Charles regatta, and will distribute even more at the Oscars and the Golden Globes.

New Study Links Pfizer's Bextra, Similar to Vioxx, To Heart Attacks

Article Abstract:

Preliminary data from a new clinical study, show that Bextra, a Cox-2 inhibitor from Pfizer Inc., more than doubled the number of heart attacks or strokes in patients. The results are similar to those reported in studies of another Cox-2 inhibitor, Vioxx, from Merck and Company, which was taken off the market in September.

F.D.A. Urges Doctors to Limit Their Prescriptions for a Pair of Popular Painkillers

Article Abstract:

The Food and Drug Administration is planning to convene an advisory group to determine whether painkillers Bextra and Celebrex, both from Pfizer Inc., should be taken off the market. In the meantime, the agency is recommending that doctors limit prescribing the drugs.
