Article Abstract:

Yunus' concept of granting small sums to small business people, has grown into a global working concept. Called the Grameen Bank, the project now operates in 36,000 Bangladesh villages. In 1985, the Ford Foundation sponsored Yunus' visit to the US to explain his project. Chicago's Full Circle is one result.

'I realized that change had to start with me.' (violent youth)

Article Abstract:

The Tariq Khamisa Foundation was founded in San Diego, CA, and was named after a 20-year-old that was shot to death while on a pizza delivery by a 14-year-old. The foundation was started by the father of the victim and the grandfather of the killer, and is dedicated to preventing youth violence.
