AOL Time Warner said to be pursuing AT&T's cable unit

Article Abstract:

The landscape is changing for media conglomerates with the Bush administration in office. One result is that Microsoft will not be forced to break up. Another result is that AOL Time Warner has a good chance of getting approval to merge with AT&T Broadband, and has made the first overtures. If this deal were to proceed, AT&T shareholders would own about 60% of the new company. AT&T has been considering spinning off the cable unit as another option.
