Abercrombie's latest catalog 'hot' off presses

Outdoor apparel retailer and cataloger Abercombie and Fitch Co's catalog for the 2000 holiday season is dubbed as the most provocative of retail catalogs to date. The catalog, which can only be availed by individuals 18 years-old and above, features a lesbian wedding, a naked male mounting an outdoor fountain and an interview with Brandy Bunch's mother, Florence Henderson, commenting on penis size. According to company officials, the catalog communicates the image of the Abercombie brand, which is stylish edgy and expensive.

Busch's animal kingdom reigns over bowl

Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc's advertisement that featured Dalmatian puppies, one of the company's nine commercials aired during Superbowl XXXIII, won the top spot at the 1999 edition of the Super Bowl Ad Meter. The Ad Meter, considered as the Super Bowl of Advertising, was conducted for the 11th time in 1999 by USA TODAY. Anheuser-Busch, the manufacturer of Bud Light and Budweiser, featured other animals such as frogs, lobsters, mice and lizards in its other commercials.

Marketers aim Britney Spears to appeal to wider audience

Article Abstract:

Pepsi-Cola Co has signed Britney Spears for a multiyear deal which is considered as the biggest endorsement contract of her career. Industry sources estimate the contract to be about $2 million annually. The first ad will be presented on the Academy Awards on Mar 25, 2001. It will be folowed by a series of TV spots and print ads. Pepsi hopes that the series of ads will broaden Spears' appeal to include not just teenagers but also older people.
