All work no jobs

Article Abstract:

Economists in Australia are predicting a large-scale move away from the traditional situation of full-time, permanent employees, towards self-managed employment, where workers would work partly on a salary basis and partly on contract or casual work. Currently, only 36% of Australian workers work a full thirty-five to forty hour weeks at standard jobs. The challenge will be for schools and teachers to focus on new areas such as entrepreneurial skills to prepare for this increasing trend in work organization.
