Are feminists out of touch with the majority of women?

Article Abstract:

Disagreement exists on whether feminists have lost touch with most women in their society. Critics see the 1970s brand of feminism as promoting an alienated egocentricity, where economic concerns and self-fulfillment have replaced relationships. Supporters note that more women voters consider themselves feminists than any other kind of voter, and that the traditional gender gap in voting and political issues will expand.

Battered womem also kill

Article Abstract:

There is a growing sentiment among US state officials and legislators to sympathize with battered women who have killed their tormentors as a means to escape from continued agony. Most of the imprisoned women committed these acts of manslaughter as a reaction to unabatedand extreme physical abuse. Legislators are examining the possibility of using a history of domestic violence as evidence in pleas of self defense.
