BDC details on-line loan offerings

Business Development Bank of Canada, a federally-run banking institution, unveiled its new BDC Connex online service, which offers to customers through the Web the bank's comprehensive range of services. Business Development Bank of Canada, which offers to small companies services such as management advice and financing, believes that its new BDC Connex service will establish its operations as North America's first firm in the financial-services sector to offer all its services via the Web.

A report on the Business examination of the latest rounds of board appointments shows that nearly half of the directors who joined the major Canadian companies in the year 2003 did not sit on another large board. Reports also indicate that the directors need to have diversity in their work along with the financial and international experience.
