Ballard to adapt fuel cells for Japanese housing market

Vancouver, BC-based Ballard Power Systems Inc. has announced it will adapt its latest fuel cell technology for the housing sector in Japan. Ballard, which introduced the new fuel cells at the North American International Auto Show, has formed a joint venture with Japan's Ebara Corp.

Burnaby, BC-based Ballard Power Systems Ltd., which produces fuel-cell technology products, is working with Vancouver, BC-based Methanex Corp. to develop fuel systems that use liquid methanol. The system would be used for motor vehicles that are powered by fuel-cell engines.

Daimler bus deal powers Ballard to commercialization

Article Abstract:

Burnaby, BC-based Ballard Power Systems Inc. and Germany's DaimlerChrysler AG have reached an agreement to produce fuel cell-powered buses. Ballard will provide pollution-free fuel cell stacks to DaimlerChrysler, which is the largest maker of buses in the world.
