Bata to revamp worldwide operations

Toronto, Ont.-based Bata Shoe Organization has announced cost-cutting measures that are designed to reduce the shoe company's costs by $60 million. Bata Shoe, which plans to close down about five out of 65 factories, is led by chairman and chief executive officer Jim Pantelidis.
