Beating the fears of '99

Article Abstract:

Investors in 1999 face similar circumstances they faced in 1998. Australian investors will either back the growth that Wall Street has generated, or they will back away fearing a major correction period. Many contend that the strength of the US economy may mean that the fall will be particularly severe. Despite the strength of the Australian market, a downfall in the US market could generate a worldwide collapse.

Super vision

Article Abstract:

Taking an active involvement in managing one's superannuation fund is sensible, because many employees do not realize they can make contributions for a non-working spouse and benefit from an 18% tax rebate. Investors should check to see if they have entitlements in their accounts, and should consolidate funds with one manager to minimize fees.
