Bell Canada to propose shared phone lines to cut costs for ISPs

Article Abstract:

Bell Canada will launch a plan to share high-speed phones lines with independent Internet services providers (ISPs) to cut costs for ISPs. The proposal arises from a regulatory dispute between Bell Canada and the ISPs. ISPs have complained that Bell charges ISPs higher rates for the use of its high-speed digital subscriber lines (DSLs), which link customers to an ISP's network, than a Bell subsidiary charges its customer for the same service.
