AT&T answers rivals with new pricing plans

Article Abstract:

AT and T Corp has unveiled two pricing programs for its long-distance phone service and for families using multiple cellular phones in an effort to win back customers. The AT&T One Rate 7 Cents plan involves a charge of 7 cents per minute for long-distance calls made any time, in addition to payment of up to $5.95 every month. Meanwhile, The Family Plan includes up to five wireless phones and one home phone, which are all allowed to call each other at any time without charge.

Software to boost RealPlayer: portal/browser combo ahead

Article Abstract:

RealNetworks is launching RealPlayer 7 and a new content service on Nov 8, 1999. The new software product gives users portal and browser ability for managing streaming Internet video. The offering also includes Take 5, which presents a multimedia preview, and the Real.com Network. RealPlayer's function as an audio and video browser puts RealNetworks in direct competition with Yahoo! Inc's Broadcast.com.
