Bombardier axes 2,000, warns more jobs may go: slowing aerospace division now facing a loss this year

Bombardier Inc. is slashing down 2,000 jobs at its aerospace division and warning that more cuts could be on the way as it struggles to cope with uncertainty in the market for its once high-flying regional jets. The company had a loss of $151-million in its 2004 fiscal first half.

Sale of Bombardier unit likely cut by $150-million

Article Abstract:

Montreal, Que.-based Bombardier Inc. is expected to sell its recreational products division for $150 million less than its original $1.23 billion price. Bombardier, which is led by president and chief executive officer Paul Tellier, will sell the division to a group of investors.
