Bombardier faces WTO today

Article Abstract:

Bombardier Inc awaits the decision of the World Trade Organization (WTO) that could give it billions of dollars in new business if a ruling concerning aerospace subsidy favors Canada. The WTO will decide on Aug 2, 1999, whether Technology Partnership Canada, a federal research and development fund, and Brazil's Pro-ex financing program provided illegal subsidies on sales of regional jets.

Canada to ask last time for end to salmon ban

Article Abstract:

Canada is trying to convince the government of Australia to end its 25-year-old ban on Canadian salmon. Australia, which has claimed that Canadian salmon might infect its own fish population with disease, has lost the trade dispute case with the World Trade Organization.
